More Fields 2.0.1 and More Types 1.0.1

We got the flyswatter out and are smashing a couple of bugs right out of the gates.

More Fields 2.0 issue:

  • WYSIWIG and content not showing up (Report 1, Report 2)
  • implode error reported by some users (Report 1, Report 2). This was caused by changes between the implementation of json_decode between PHP 5.2.x and 5.3.x. We’re no longer using json (while remaining big fans), as it requires PHP5.
  • WYSIWIG overflow when window is small.

More Types 1.0 issue:

  • Featured image missing from created types (Report 1)
  • Weird UTF8 text was saved as even weirder text (Report 1)
  • Text labels other than singular & plural were not saved properly (Report 1)

We will be pushing the point update shortly, until then look for release candidates in Other versions.

(This post will be updated until release.) More Fields 2.0.1 and More Types 1.0.1 were just committed to the repository. Try them out and let us know what you think!

I love this plugin. Makes it too easy. I started creating my own custom post types and custom write panels, but your plugin made it too easy.

One question I have is: How can I set a default category for a custom post type that is different from the default category for a regular post?

  • Erlend Sogge Heggen

You’ve made some great plugins here. I want to help make them better by using them though, and I’ve started leaving some feedback in the respective forums. Please check them out once in a while :)

I love it too, I have installed it and now it is very simple do what I had to do manually, but I have a problem, the categories for each post type ar not working, it displays the categories panel but when I add a new post to a category it doesn’t appear to have been submitted under any category, that happens only for these custom post types… any thoughts?

    Thank you!

It looks like WordPress 3.x-compatible branch of More Fields and More Types dropped ability to configure default cagegories on per-type basis. Do you expect to return this functionality to the plugin? If so, would you have an idea when?

    still receiving:
Fatal error: Call to a member function add_cap() on a non-object in /more-types/more-types-object.php on line 135
    WP Version 3.0.1

Is there a workaround for that issue?

Great works towards WP3, Thanks for developing UI based…Its now easy to Add/Modify.I have problem with post type template, maybe there is bug…

Hi guys, I’ve run into a problem with this plugin, and resolved the problem so here is the info:

In certain cases, $wp_roles is empty at the time the more_types_object::init_post_types() is called, so when $wp_roles->add_cap($role, $capability); is called on line 135 of more-types/more-types-object.php there is a runtime error which stops the execution, and the page does not load.

To fix it, put if (!isset($wp_roles)) $wp_roles = new WP_Roles(); in more_types_object::init_post_types() somewhere before line 135.

Thanks for the great set of plugins, guys!

If by any chance Anyone using wordpress 3.1 cant get the custom types working here´s a quick fix

Add in more-types-object.php at line 182:

    $options['show_in_menu'] = true;
    $options['capability_type'] = ‘post’;

    Hope this is helpful.

    Great plugin!

I’m getting the following for more fields and wordpress 3.1

Warning: call_user_func_array() []: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘Array’ was given in …/dev/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 395

With a CPT created by More Types, the “Screen Options” setting for how many to view per page does not seem to work. It always shows 20. For a CPT created by a different CPT plugin, it does work. It’s not a conflict with another plugin, because it still did not work with all other plugins deactivated.

Is this related to any advanced settings/Do you know of a way to fix this?

  • Hugo

More Types plugin gives me a warning when I select the add new post type button
Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, string given in /Users/guest/Sites/client/wp-content/plugins/more-types/more-types-settings.php on line 291
    any ideas on that ?
